new york streets: through his lense

most people in my life know that i love almost everything about new york even though i haven’t even been there. i’ve watched enough movies to know that it’s a city i must live in at some point in my life. lol! there is something about nyc that is appealing… i think it’s beyond the cosmo lifestyle. it’s the fact that you get high couture and hood fashion at once. there is so much to do there… broadway (i love theatre especially musicals), the fabulous resturants, the entertainment offered there and of course the fashion stores.

i want to go through brooklyn looking at the urban guy and girl’s lifestyle – and then take it upmarket to manhattan and see the prim living. through the many american lifestyle channels and blogs I watch and read… i know i would have the time of my life in that city. now street photographer, noah ritter’s true photos of brooklyn have proved that i need to go to new york and explore. he didn’t touch them up. these are the naked pics of new york streets

feather awards: caught on camera

one of the most celebrated events on south africa’s social calender… the annual gay awards, formally called the feather awards took place on thursday the 11th november at the venue in melrose, johannesburg. it’s a pity these award which are always feature flamboyount characters are broadcast on any channel for us to see. i’d love to see south africa’s “celebrity” gay community together and all dressed up beyond the ordinary…

but here are some of the winners of the night… the victors also make me raise an eyebrow because most of them aren’t even gay or lesbian or bi-sexual or even drag…

best styled female: bonang matheba [dineo ranaka / noni gasa]

converse has gone comic-al!

personally, i think everybody who was born after 1979 must own a pair of converse all-star sneakers at one point of their lives (at least). so i extremely excited that converse has brought out dc comics inspired designs for their 2012 spring collection. like what better way to relive your childhood than through fashion that is STILL fashionable (we all know all-stars will never go out of fashion).

the revolutionary sneaker maker’s spring designs features some of their most popular superheroes – batman, superman and flash. I actually think the sneakers would go well with my 90’s theme party i want to throw for my 25th birthday party next year. and yes, dc comics aren’t really 90’s babies but they definately saw us through the years – so they would fit in just well. and converse are timeless… i think i will choose the superman design (of it ever comes to south africa – *holds thumbs*). the red on white is more amaze for me than the other colours! phuck! i want these sneakers so bad now… already have an outfit for them.

batman

my fav - superman

if converse had partnered with marvel, i think spiderman would have had the dopest design. 😉
